On February 26, 2026, the Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal (CTCP) hosted a strategic workshop at its headquarters in S. João da Madeira as part of the SHOEPRO project.

The event brought together 18 participants, including company managers, technical operators, and vocational trainers, to address the evolving needs of the European footwear cluster.

The workshop focused on two critical pillars: green and digital transformation
Participants explored specialized training modules designed to future-proof the industry, such as Eco-Design, circular economy principles, and waste management, alongside advanced digital skills like 2D and 3D CAD modeling and 3D printing

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees describing the resources as "highly usable" and ready for immediate application on the factory floor for workforce upskilling.

This initiative, a partnership between organizations in Portugal and Croatia, reinforces international cooperation to ensure the footwear sector remains competitive, sustainable, and resilient in the global market
